Chinese Steamed Minced Meat Recipe

Description

A easy and light meat dish eaten together with rice. Very common in China. I have eaten it many times.


Ingredients

  • 250 g minced pork
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 tbsp fresh or frozen chives (I used frozen)
  • 1 tbsp chinese cooking wine / shaoxing wine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper

Instructions

  1. I use the same bowl for cooking and mixing ingredients.
  2. Crack eggs into bowl and add chives, cooking wine, soy sauce and white pepper. Mix for like 20 s until it’s all combined.
  3. Add minced meat and mix around for 1 – 2 minutes maybe until it’s evenly mixed.
  4. Fill a pot with like 3 – 4 cm of water and put steam rack in the pot. Then put the bowl on steam rack.
  5. Let it steam for 20 minutes. Timer start when the water is boiling. Don’t lift the lid up during this time. The heat will escape if you do. Let it steam on medium or medium high heat, as long as it’s boiling.
  6. Turn off stove and take it out, the bowl is gonna be hot so use like a cloth to avoid getting burned.
  7. Done
