Homemade Pasta Carbonara for Two

Description

A simple and quick pasta recipe. This dish comes from Rome.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g spaghetti
  • 150g bacon
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100g grated Pecorino Romano cheese
  • 2 clove garlic, peeled and chopped (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine egg and Pecorino Romano cheese in a separate bowl.
  2. Boil spaghetti according to package. Save around 1 dl of pasta water. Then drain the pasta.
  3. In a pan add olive oil and cook the bacon and garlic for around 5 min on medium heat.
  4. Turn down off heat on pan and then add pasta to bacon pan.
  5. Add egg and cheese sauce to the same pan and stir around.
  6. If pasta is too thick then add some of the pasta water until the sauce gets a good consistency.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Done.
