Introduction

This is a fictional and philosophical book that tells a story about a man who quits his daily life and a shepherd and instead follows his dream. Since it’s a fictional book, this summary will only include some quotes that may be worth thinking about. The message this book is trying to deliver is to inspire us to live out our dreams, don’t be afraid of uncertainty, take risk and think about what we want our future to look like. The first half of the book is good and realistic but then it becomes too fictional. The ending is also good.

Everyone on earth has a treasure that awaits him. People however no longer want to go in search of it. We speak of them only to children. Later, we simply let life proceed, in its own direction, toward its own fate. But, unfortunately, very few follow the path laid out for them—the path to their destinies, and to happiness. Most people see the world as a threatening place, and, because they do, the world turns out indeed, to be threatening place.

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear or failure.

The fear of suffering is worse then suffering itself.

Before a dream is realized, the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. (There will be challenges and obstacles along the way).

Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time.
